KIM "KC" CAMPBELL (KILLER CHICK):
Kim “KC” Campbell is a retired Colonel who served in the Air Force for over 24 years as a fighter pilot and senior military leader. She has flown 1,800 hours in the A-10 Warthog, including more than 100 combat missions protecting troops on the ground in both Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2003, Kim was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for Heroism after successfully recovering her battle-damaged airplane after an intense close air support mission.
OUR THURSDAY NIGHT EVENT:
On Thursday, September 17th at 6:00 PM, there will be a BBQ Buffet with cash bar at the Old 30 Venue in Bucyrus. Kim will then speak about her life experiences and her fate full mission over Bagdad when she was hit by ground to air missile. Her plane never flew again after that mission. She will also be signing books at that event for attendees. We will have books available for sale through the Lauretta Schimmoler Museum Inc. For those pilots that would like to fly to Bucyrus for this event, we will have a shuttle bus to transport you from the airport to the Old 30 Venue and back to the Airport. More details to come in late July.
OUR FRIDAY AFTERNOON EVENT:
On Friday afternoon,, September 18th at 1:30 PM at the Hord Family Farms HQs on State Route 98, Kim will present her leadership program. As a senior military leader, Kim has led hundreds of Airmen both at home and in deployed environments, enabling them to succeed in complex, high-pressure missions. She has experience leading large organizations and driving cultural change. In 2023, Kim was awarded the Leadership Achievement Award from the Air Force Academy, recognizing graduates who demonstrate exceptional professional accomplishment, integrity, and character in service to others. This event is geared to employees, managers, owners, and anyone who has a desire to expand their career in leadership skills. More details to come in late July.
We are getting a new terminal building!
New Terminal Building
Construction has started on the new terminal building for Port Bucyrus – Crawford County Airport (17G). Planned completion is October of 2026.
Old Terminal and Hangar
The old terminal building and hangar will eventually be torn down, once the new terminal construction is completed. The ramp area will be reconfigured (a safety issue) and eventully the gas pump(s) will be relocated.
